About Me
I have been a journalist for 15 years working in different desks mainly including society, arts, and culture. Having started as a reporter, I am now the senior editor at one of the most prestigious magazines on culture and society, namely Aftab Network magazine, in Iran. In recent years and due to ever-increasing limits on press freedom, I began to feel that I can reflect society’s voice through another medium, that is documentary cinema. I started working for a couple of projects as a researcher and screenwriter, and soon became the senior editor of the multimedia desk at IRNA (Islamic Republic News Agency). We produced daily pieces of news in video format. With that experience, me and my wife, also an experienced journalist, decided to make our own documentary to tell a story about Afghan refugees living in Iran. The film is at its final stages of shooting and editing.
