About Me
Anna Feder has been working in cinema exhibition in various capacities for over two decades. She served as a programmer for Wicked Queer: the Boston LGBT Film Festival and SFIndie, associate director of the Northampton Independent Film Festival and was the director of the Boston Underground Film Festival for seven years. She is also one of the core organizers of Queering the Cinema, a professional organization for queer identified exhibitors and distributors.
She currently serves as the Director of Programming in the Visual Media Arts department at Emerson College and curates the Bright Lights film series in the Bright Family Screening Room. She is affiliated faculty teaching a course she designed, Behind the Screens: the Mechanics of Cinema Exhibition. She is also a documentary filmmaker, completing her first short in 2019 ,The Untitled Heroes Project on a new wave dance night that has been running in Cambridge for two decades. She is currently in post production on her second short Never Again Para Nadie on a Jewish group in Providence, RI working to end the ICE detention of immigrants at the Wyatt detention center in Central Falls.
