Submission Guidelines
Submission Rules—Read Me!
Two Important Things!
1. All uploads must include a video file of some sort for the system to work.
2. We have noted that the system defaults to the Audio for Video category after the first page even if you've selected another category, so make sure you RESELECT THE CORRECT CATEGORY on the second page.
• VIDEO: Just follow the prompts.
• AUDIO (no picture) or RADIO: convert audio files it to a video (MP4, for example) and put the title of the show as the "picture," or just use a black screen.
• SCRIPTS: upload a 5 second blank video when prompted. Or email me at [email protected] and I will send you what you need.
• Submissions are limited to 5 minutes in length, and 500MB in size. Anything greater will be disqualified.
• Submissions must be created within the context of a class.
• Submissions must have been created within the past year (Sp 19 - Sp 20).
• Students may submit a maximum of one project per category.
• No multiple submissions of the same project across multiple categories.
• Different sections of the same show may be submitted in different categries, if appropriate.
• If more than one student wants to submit the same show in the same category, submit it as a group.
• Material within a project must be original. A small percentage of other footage is acceptable (as in a package piece).
• Excecutive Producer reserves the right to disqualify, move, or edit any submisisons.
• Executive Producer reserves the right to all final decsions regarding awards.
• Projects may be disqualified if they are in the wrong category or wrong file format, length, or size.
• Late submissions will not be considered.
Video Guidelines
• Any universally watchable video file type is acceptable (MP4 recommended) mp4, mov, wmv, webm, mkv, flv, vob, ogv, ogg, avi, qt, asf, m4v, mpg, mpeg, m2v, 3gp, mxf
• For Audio & Radio submissions, create a video file with the title of the show and the Audio content (site does not allow for audio file types).
• Scripts should be in PDF format, and will also require some video upload for the system to complete your submission. A few seconds of blank video will work fine.
Document Guidelines
The only documents to be uploaded are script entries. If you are entering in the script categories, please upload as one of the listed file types.
- Audio: Sound for Picture (sound design for video). |
- Audio: Music Production (for production value, not an award for best music). |
- Audio: Experimental (sonic art or a other audio that does not fit another category). |
- Radio: Radio Show or Podcast (program of any type: variety, feature, documentary, etc). |
- Radio: News or Sports Program (specifically features news or sports). |
- Radio: Commercial or PSA (usually 30 or 60 seconds). |
- Script: Fiction |
- Script: Non-Fiction |
- Video: Fiction (narrative, non-narrative, etc). |
- Video: Non-fiction (magazine show, documentary, educational, long-form report, etc). |
- Video: Commercial or PSA (advertisement (real or not). Usually 30 or 60 seconds). |
- Video: News or Sports Package (short-form). |
- Video: Experimental Video (video art or other that does not fit another category). |
- Video: Talent (on-air performance, featuring one or more performers. Specify qualifying performers).
