About Me
In order to operationalize the vision of family engagement Jennifer Mullins accepted the role of Family Advisor at St. Clair Child & Youth Services in 2016.
After years of being alone trying to support family members experiencing difficulty with symptom on-set, finding help, managing the health care system, maintaining housing and dealing with risks to her own employment and family security she found just what she needed when she connected with St. Clair Child & Youth Family Services back in 2009. It was then that her family began to put the shattered pieces together and truly find their way.
Jennifer met parents and caregivers through different opportunities to hear their stories and establish meaningful connections and relationships in her community. The coming together of individuals with lived experience sparked the development of our Lambton Family Advisory Committee. This committee found their voice and further met the needs of parents and persons supporting loved ones struggling and were instrumental in co-creating a peer to peer local support group. Jennifer’s professional career combined with her lived experience makes her a fierce, passionate advocate for youth and families navigating mental health challenges.
